A new exhibition hall will open the Provincial Museum of Guantanamo, Local Monument, whose capital restoration underway and is foreseen to end in July, although it will not be until the end of the year that it reopens its doors, after the detailed museological assembly.
After six months of work and complying with the patrimonial regulations, the civil work is at 70 percent completion of the more comprehensive renovation that this building has received from the mid-19th century, which upon reopening will do so with seven exhibition sections.
Francisco Ramírez, director of the museum, director of the network of these facilities in Guantanamo, explained that the new space will recreate the socio-cultural evolution of the region and complement the existing ones, dedicated to archeology, national liberation struggles, decorative arts, and the natural and cosmonautic heritage, this one referred to the Joint USSR-Cuba Flight.
