The construction of sixty petrocasas in the community Limones, in the Maisí municipality, the restoration of the Baracoa’s boardwalk and the recent execution of some 50 works in Niceto Pérez are part of the actions promoted by the political movement Sí Se puede, which promotes popular participation in the socio-economic development of Guantanamo.
Inspired by the top leader Raúl Castro, the initiative focuses on the recovery of the damages caused by Matthew and Irma hurricanes and the development of clean, ordered, beautiful and disciplined cities, together with the promotion of investments with impact on the local progress.
In this regard, the completion of important works such as the alternative road to La Boruga hill and the solar photovoltaic farm, in Punta de Maisí stands out; in addition to the execution, in the Guantanamo Municipality, the Provincial Court and the La Terraza Market, in the Caribe district; the Plaza del Mercado, in the urban center, and the Rafael Freyre Sports Initiation School, among other works scattered throughout the territory.
From a holistic approach, the Political Movement Sí Se puede also boosts the production of construction materials and food, the harvest, agricultural and hydraulic development and the consolidation of basic services such as health, transportation, education, among others.
This constant work is supported by the Municipal Initiative Program for Local Development and the Territorial Contribution of One Percent, transcendental financing available for repairs and the start of new works aimed at people welfare.
In order to materialize the Sí Se puede Movement, the participation of every Guantanamo, promoter from his work position and role in the community of social and economic development of the province is fundamental.
