More than 376 000 Guantanamo will exercise their right to vote in 1244 polling stations on February 24 to ratify the new constitution, unanimously approved on December 22 by the National Assembly of People’s Power as the result of a broad popular consultation.
For the first time, two thousand young people will exercise their right to vote in this town referendum in which 9500 electoral authorities will guarantee the success of this constitutional referendum that will mark a before and after in the Antillean nation.
As is usual in the elections, the pioneers, more than 10,000 in this opportunity, will guard the ballot boxes and 8000 young people from the pre-university, university and professional technical education will participate as volunteers in this exercise of democracy.
The preparation of the electoral authorities, the visit to the schools to evaluate the conditions as well as the verification of all kinds of the assurances, are developed as part of the third stage of this process prior to the dynamic test of next February 17 in which will open its doors the 1244 schools and communications will be verified in all its variants.
The will of the people will be expressed in the ballot box on February 24 with the approval of this new Magna Carta preceded by others of great historical value in the revolutionary process such as Guáimaro, Jimaguayú and the 40s and 76s.
