A recognition signed by Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Vice President of the Councils of State and Minister, to mass media for coverage of the return to the homeland of Cuban collaborators of the More Doctors Program in Brazil, it was given in Guantanamo during the ceremony for the Cuban Press Day.
The member of the central committee in the province, Rafael Pérez Fernández, handed Thaimí Fernández Pérez, Provincial President of the Cuban Journalists Association (UPEC) the acknowledgement, who commented on the actions and challenges of the reporters in the territory.
During the ceremony, held at the Huambo Cultural Center in Villa del Guaso, Pérez Fernández, Secretary of the Communist Party in Guantanamo, also recognized the most outstanding journalists of the different media of the territory in the past year.
The provincial representatives of the mass organizations of the Committee for the Defense of Revolution, the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), and the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution also distinguished the press and the UPEC.
The event on the Cuban Press Day, in which talented exponents of the Guantanamo culture performed, was also attended by executives of governments, the culture sector and the Association of Cuban Artists and Writers.
