Forces of the contingent Emilio Daudinot began the demolition of the five-meter stretch affected in the south path of the Bridge Caleta, the only work that still has to be recovered after the passing of Hurricane Matthew in October 2016.

Francisco Hernández, deputy director of the Provincial Road Enterprise, explained that a two or three-meters-reinforced-concrete wall will be erected in Maisí, as well as a light will be added to raise the wall from the areas most affected by the flood, and a system of metal beams will be placed to strengthen the structure.

Then, the abutments and concrete slabs will be placed, following other minor actions such as the installation of the defenses and other elements that must be completed, according to the execution scheduled for December of this year.

During this week, as part of the effort to guarantee the transit between Guantanamo and Maisi through a more resistant road, the contingent Emilio Daudinot repaired with hydraulic concrete the eighty-meter detour.

Hernández Guibert stressed that there is a budget of half a million pesos for the execution of repairs and the main materials and supplies that guarantee the continuity of the road.
