The summer stage offers an option to the Guantanamo women and the family through just over 400 short summer courses promoted by the Cuban Women Federation, among which those related to sexual and reproductive health stand out.
Right in the area of Obrero District in the Guantanamo City on Wednesday, doctors and other specialists linked to the House of Orientation to Women taught one of these courses, which offered an overview of the incidence of Sexually Transmitted Infections, which leave sequels, have a high economic and social cost, and above all are avoidable.
Likewise, the members of FMC, adolescents and the family in general were aware of issues related to the epidemiological situation and the necessary sanitation of the community to reduce the factors that condition the high infestation of Aedes Aegypti, a task in which massive participation is important.
During the months of July and August, short summer courses sponsored by the Cuban Women Federation will address other topics such as the prevention of teenage pregnancy, alcoholism, domestic violence, fashion, gender equality, coexistence, nutrition in the elderly, self-esteem, among others.
The previous year, more than 10 thousand Guantanamo people participated in these courses, which helped to improve their knowledge and allowed them to interact with each other and with highly qualified specialists.
