Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, President of the Councils of State and Ministers, yesterday May 27, received Salvador Sánchez Cerén, President of El Salvador, who was making an official visit to the country.
During the cordial meeting, held as is customary in the Palacio de la Revolución, the two leaders discussed the excellent state of bilateral relations, and the potential for developing economic ties in various arenas, both in terms of trade and cooperation.
They additionally addressed issues of international and regional interest.
The distinguished guest was accompanied by Hugo Martínez Bonilla, minister of Foreign Relations; Roberto Lorenzana Durán, Presidential secretary for technical issues and planning; Eugenio Chicas, communications Presidential secretary; and Sandra Geraldine Alvarado, El Salvador’s ambassador in Cuba.
Also participating on the Cuban side were First Vice President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez; Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla; José Ramón Balaguer Cabrera, head of the Party Central Committee international affairs department; Rogelio Sierra Díaz, deputy minister of Foreign Relations; and Iliana Fonseca Lorente, Cuba’s ambassador in El Salvador.
