With the presence of the top authorities of the Cuban Communist Party and the government of the territory, the solemn act of inauguration of the members of the Provincial Electoral Council took place on the afternoon of this Wednesday in Guantanamo City at the Mariana Grajales Square.
During the ceremony, the member Wilfredo Morales Lesca, National Vocal read the agreements of the State Council and the Electoral Council at the country level, and also announced to the presidency staff and the membership in the eastern province.
Oceania Orihuela Bigñote appointed as the main representative of that institution in the territory took the oath and swore as she ratified the willingness to maintain loyalty to the Fatherland in the performance of her duties, according to the ethical foundations that govern the performance of the authorities and act with impartiality, transparency and truthfulness.
Similarly, Alis Azahares, Vice President of the Provincial Assembly of Popular Power in Guantanamo, referred to the firm attitude of the people to the complexity of the current moment and the economic aggressions of the United States government against Cuba, who intends to suffocate us.
The Provincial Electoral Council is in charge of supervising, controlling and validating all the missions and tasks related to the electoral processes that are developed as an expression of the socialist social project democracy, in correspondence with article 23, section III of the Electoral Law approved in Cuba, as legitimized by the new Constitution in force.
