Nearly ten Guantanamo historians will be awarded with the Cuban Culture Distinction, given by Fernando Rojas, Vice Minister of Culture and Jorge Luis Aneiros, National President of the Cuban Association of Historians (UNHIC), in a solemn act scheduled for November 22 in the Plaza Mariana Grajales Coello, in the capital city.
All of them members of UNHIC stand out for their contributions in the studies and dissemination of events related to arts, personalities and promoters of the Cuban easternmost region, which transcend in the formation of national identity.
According to Vivian Díaz Bardají, President of the UNHIC in Guantanamo, the ceremony for the delivery of the Distinction of Cuban Culture will begin at 10:00 am in the Protocol Hall of the Sculptural Complex of Plaza Mariana Grajales , and at 2: 00 pm she invites the more than two hundred members of the territory to participate in an exchange with the top authorities of the country at the House of History.
The Association of Cuban Historians in Guantánamo is recognized nationwide for the ascending development of the methodological scientific events “De la Confianza a San Pedro” and “Playita de Cajobabo”, initiatives of the grassroots committees, in addition to their close ties with the local development programs and audiovisual media for the broadcasting of radio and television programs, for more than two decades, aimed at the truthful understanding of the important events of the national history.
