A total of 152 school campus in the province of Guantanamo are being these days repaired to mark the 62snd anniversary of the assault on the Moncada barracks, in Santiago de Cuba and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes barracks, in Bayamo.
According to Alis Azahares Torreblanca, director of Education in the province, 45 schools were completed and at this working period restoration still underway in five major campus in the municipalities of Baracoa, San Antonio del Sur, Guantanamo and Imías, the venue of the provincial ceremony in the territory on occasion of the historic event.
In the municipality of Imías, home of the main activities in the province to commemorate the National Rebellion Day, some other primary schools, the special school and the vocational school are also remodeled, in order to ensure better comfort for students and teachers in the next school year.
In 60 schools in Guantanamo, new waterproofing roofs, woodwork aluminum as well as sanitary and water networks are installed too during the constructive work.
This way, the face of this important sector changes, which is the essence of the Revolution that was one of the fundamental problems of Cuban society before 1959, posed by Fidel Castro in his historic defense paper “La Historia me Absolverá”.
