When this July 26, the people of Santiago de Cuba gather, the hearts of the people in Guantanamo will be also filled with joy shared with that eastern territory showing important economic achievements: a significant investment plan with a view to the celebration of its 500 years of foundation, which stand out the rehabilitation and restoration works related to the sector of culture, education, health, trade and services, recreation; and especially the cultural and natural heritage tourism.
All Cuba will be in Santiago and all Santiago will be in Cuba when, from 5:12 in the morning today the polygon ceremony of the former second fort of the country enlightens, to kick off the 62nd anniversary celebration of the attacks on the Moncada and Carlos Ma¬nuel de Cespedes Garrisons.
From this land we congratulate those Santiago de Cuba men and women, in the 62nd anniversary of the Moncada events and 500th anniversary birthday of its foundation which revived like a phoenix after the passing of Hurricane Sandy.
In this new encounter with history a message of peace and hope will be sent to the world. Along with them, the people of Guantanamo will be present breathing the same happiness and inspired by the example of those who have remained among the Cuban top provinces.
