Migdalia Tamayo Tellez, president of the Provincial Council of this branch underlines among the studies those referred to rural areas and the exodus from the mountains comprising more than 75 percent of the provincial geography.
The analysis of the living conditions in the countryside, relations and differences as compared with the city, the participation of women and the family in farming activities as well as traditional practices, are also included in the topics discussed by social researchers.
In this sense it is relevant the studies on life in communities located in the Alejandro de Humboldt National Park, besides the socio - environmental and productive characterization of remote communities in the municipalities of Maisi, Baracoa, Yateras and El Salvador.
Migdalia Tamayo Tellez, president of the Provincial Council said that this work for Guantanamo´s development, lawyers, economists, historians, educators and ethnographers along with other researchers contribute the formation of new citizens.
