The Guantanamo rower Angel Fournier advanced to the final at the World Rowing Championships, upon finishing third in one of the two semifinals in the single modality, based in the city of Aiguebelette, France.
According to the event´s website, Fournier managed to record 6: 53,300 behind the Lithuanian Mindaugas Griskonis (6: 47,670) and Czech Andrej Synek (6: 50,670) respectively, they all qualified for the Rio de Janeiro 2016Olympic Games.
