Houses orientation for women and the family scattered in the ten municipalities of Guantanamo, trained this year to more than fifteen hundred people in different acquisition of skills programs to perform everyday activity.

These courses are offered by professors and experts in various subjects related to foreign language, hairdresser-barber, acupressure massage and cutting-sewing, with a duration of one to three months.

Mariela Vidal Carballo, member of provincial secretariat of Cuban Women Federation (FMC) said that Guantanamo and Baracoa municipalities stand out in this task with more than a dozen programs.

Since 1990, with the founding of Houses orientation for women and the family, the FMC offers these programs aimed at achieving the full realization of equality and empowerment of women in all areas and levels of society.

The House of Orientation for Women and Family brings other lines of work such as counseling and individual and group counseling for free, in conjunction with the ministries and agencies of the municipality to promote gender equality
