UN-Women announced the activities and campaigns to raise world awareness on the need to fight violence against women, a scourge that affects one in three women.

The Fourth International Seminar on Peace and Abolition of Military Bases continues today here its working sessions with the presence of more than 200 pacifists from 46 countries.

Opening today in the city of Guantánamo is the 4th International Seminar on Peace and the Abolition of Foreign Military Bases, with some 200 delegates from 30 countries participating.

Pianist Frank Fernandez, singers Waldo Mendoza and Leo Vera, and the orchestra El Niño y La Verdad are among the artists who honor with their presence the La Guantanamera Feast on the occasion of the 145th anniversary of the granting of the title of the town, formerly known as Santa Catalina Guaso.

The medication Vaxira to treat advanced large cell lung cancer, developed by Cuba’s Molecular Immunology Center, received the Prize for Creativity and Technological Innovation 2015, awarded by the Cuban Industrial Property Office (OCPI).
