Nine U.S. governors sent a letter to the Congress asking for the lifting of travel , financial transactions, and trade restrictions codified in the more than 50-year blockade against Cuba. "It's time for the Congress to act and remove the sanctions that prevent the normal trade between our country and Cuba," the letter says addressed Tuesday to the leader of the Republican majority in the Senate, Mitch McConnell; the President of the House of Representatives, Republican John Boehner, and the leaders of the minority in both instances.
