The Provincial People's Government in Solemn Assembly, granted the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Raul Castro Ruz, President of the Councils of State and Ministers and Vice President Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, Replica Sable of Major General Pedro Agustín Pérez, for their merits as fighters and historic leaders of the country.
On the night of April 11, 1895 the delegate of the Cuban Revolutionary Party José Martí was arriving in the country by Cajobabo Beach, in the Guantanamo municipality of Imías accompanied by Mayor General Máximo Gómez, Generals César Salas and Marcos del Rosario, Colonel Francisco Borrego and Captain Angel Guerra.
