With an enrollment of over 5,700 students, the University of Medical Sciences in Guantanamo, has the challenge of guaranteeing a comprehensive quality education aimed at future professionals and health technologists, said Nuria Pérez Delgado, rector of the Institution.
Two weeks and three days after the debates on Cuba´s New Constitution Draft began, the workers of the Municipal Office of Justice in Guantánamo discussed about the governing role of the Communist Party in society, the changes in the structure of the State and the full guarantee of human rights in the nation.
The University of Guantánamo is in favorable situation to start the next September 5 a school year in higher education with better conditions that the previous one, with an enrollment of 9,162 students.
This was known during the work meeting to check the preparations for the academic term, which was headed by the First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Martha del Carmen Mesa Valenciano, and the main authorities of the Communist Party and the government in the territory.
Cuba´s scientific development and the strengthening of the people´s power in the base areas are included among the issues for discussion in the continuation of the consultation of the new Constitution Draft, a process that today marks its ninth day.
Nearly 64 000 tabloids of the Constitution Draft of the Republic of Cuba have been sold in Guantanamo since the sale of this document began in the first days of August, as part of the process of preparation of the popular consultation to conclude on November 15.
According to the Commercial Department of the Postal Enterprise in the eastern province, at this moment, the territory has about 3,000 copies of the document in different areas to be sold, at the price of one peso in national currency.
