Russian social Venceremos Movement in Russia today demanded an end to the anti-Cuban measures of the US government, kept by the US intact, the economic, financial and commercial blockade against the island.

After a solidarity rally as every day 5th of the month against the US embassy in Moscow, activists delivered Thursday a list of demands including the lifting of the blockade to Cuba, which worldwide condemnation earned a record vote in the General Assembly of 191 votes in favour on October 27.

The statement by Venceremos stresses that the overwhelming support of the international community demonstrated the isolation of the United States and Israel, only states that voted against the resolution in favor of lifting the lock with a universal resonance for over 20 years.

"As members of the worldwide movement for the sovereignty of the peoples of Latin America and non-interference in the internal affairs of States we demand the cancellation of all anti-Cuban measures and laws affecting third countries," emphasized the authors of the text.

They said that there can be no full normalization of US-Cuban relations persist while the blockade and other restrictions on economic, trade and financial links.

The Venceremos Movement deplores the existence in the US Congress of a strong anti-Cuban and Venezuelan lobby, part of the right-wing currents that power the revival of fascism and the rise of terrorism in the world.

The Russian social organization also expressed Venezuela solidarity with the struggle of the independence movement in Puerto Rico and the positions of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States for the sovereignty and self-determination of peoples, according to the statement to which Prensa Latina had access.
