Venezuela Defense Ministry Defines Strategy for the Period 2016-2018

The Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB, in Spanish) progresses in a renewed defense strategy for the period 2016-2018, against increasing threats of the sovereignty of Venezuela. As explained by the head of state and Commander in Chief of the FANB, Nicolás Maduro, these plans will allow the strengthening the combat capability of the military and its different components.

The Bolivarian National Armed Force (FANB, in Spanish) progresses in a renewed defense strategy for the period 2016-2018, against increasing threats of the sovereignty of Venezuela. As explained by the head of state and Commander in Chief of the FANB, Nicolás Maduro, these plans will allow the strengthening the combat capability of the military and its different components.

In a meeting at the Defense Ministry with the heads of the six Integral Defense Regions, Maduro made balance of all the scenes in which the country operates and emphasized the need for a greater efficiency in dealing with paramilitary groups, among other factors.

He also called for raising the training for external and internal threats to the life of the people and the peace of the Republic

He also stated that the route was traced for the FANB to follow its course of strengthening and consolidation, of bonding with the people, and also to confirm its readiness to face the economic war imposed by the right wing with external support.

'I count on the FANB for the great tasks of peace, stability and development', he said.

To this event was also attended by the commanders of the Army, Navy, Air Force, the Military and the National Guard.
