A robot that speaks three different languages began to work today, giving information about flight boarding to passengers at the Japanese Haneda Airport. The company Japan Airlines introduced the unusual 60-centimeter-tall employee with humanoid shape to improve their service, faced with an increase in the number of Chinese tourists, during the vacations for the New Lunar Year.
A Chinese married couple said the robot was striking and speak chinese fluently, although it also notifiers the passengers in English language, about the proximity of their boarding hours and security controls.
According to its creators, the android speaks Japanese even more fluently and can answer up to seven questions, such as how to board the plane and the weather in the passengers' destinations.
Although it will be on trial for a week, the airline said it would study the passengers' answers to the robot services and will decide if it will use it full-time.
