The debates by the heads of State or Government from the world''s seven richest capitalist countries focused today on the economy, during the first of five sessions of a summit being held in the Japanese city of Ise-Sima. The meeting has brought together the leaders of the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Canada and Japan.

During the first session, they tour a Shintoist sanctuary, a Japanese autochthonous religion. On Friday, they will visit Hiroshima, where the United States dropped the atomic bomb in 1945.

The presence of Barack Obama, the first US active president to visit that city, stands out due to the expectations created due to his refusal to apologize for the atomic bombs.

China, the world's second major power, is not a member of the G-7, but it is in the core of debates, due to its strong influence on the world market.

Other issues in the G-7 agenda are the crisis of refugees in Europe, terrorism and global warming.
