China presented a plan of cooperation and governance of security for the region Asia-Pacific during the Shangri-La Dialogue, which concluded today in this city-state. The proposal was presented by Admiral Sun Jianguo, deputy chief of Department of the Joint General Staff of the Central Military Commission of China, who lectured on the efforts to maintain peace and stability in the region.

"Today, the world experiments historical changes as never before and the countries of Asia-Pacific share together the good and bad moments", indicated Sun.

For that reason, China advocated for other perspectives of security, characterized by an inclusive cooperation, shared and of mutual benefit, he highlighted.

Sun stressed that all countries should take the path of peaceful development, abandon old mentalities and promote mutual communication and learn from the different civilizations.

The countries of Asia-Pacific should reject the Cold War mentality, deepen and expand a cooperation characterized by non-conflict, added the Admiral.

On the issue of the South China Sea or Eastern Sea, Sun stressed that Beijing always insisted on a peaceful

solution to the disputes through negotiations and consultations.
