Cuba underlined Tuesday here that the international cooperation and the shared responsibility of all the nations is the only way to achieve a global solution to the phenomenon of the migration.
That is also the way towards a major integration of the migrants to the society where they live, expressed Claudia Pérez, adviser of the Permanent Mission of Cuba in Geneva, in an interactive dialogue on the topic during the 32nd period of meetings of the Council of Human Rights.
"Cuba is sorry that until now, there are no judicial dispositions for the protection of the minimal rights of the migrant workers in the current multilateral commercial negotiations," she emphasized.
Pérez stated that the persons in this situation are not goods, but subjects, with rights.
"We denounce the restrictive politics of immigration, the racism and the xenophobia, the limited recognition of its professional qualifications, as well as the theft of brains, pernicious practice by means of which the knowledge is privatized by the big capital of the northern countries, he noticed.
On the topic of the extreme poverty, the diplomat reasserted the need that the developed country fulfill their cooperation commitments for the development by means of additional, predictable and sufficient financial resources, as well as effective measurements of cooperation, creation of capacities and transference of technologies.
