Specialists from Bolivia and Peru will carry out studies on the lake Titicaca from July 25th to determine the pollution rate of its waters and the chances of developing fish farming, said sources today here. According to Rene Huasco, director of the Institucion Publica Desconcentrada de Pesca y Acuicultura, specialists from the two countries will have modern machinery to monitor the biomass and test the hydro-biological resources.

The research seeks to determine the depth of the light, the temperature, the amount of chlorophyll and nutrients, the level of oxygen and the amount of species in the lake, said sources.
Sources also said that from Bolivia's side, specialists come from the Universidad Mayor de San Andres y la Armada, amid other institutions.
