The president had planned a stop in Seville, for some sightseeing. But he cut his trip short a day after the fatal shooting of five police officers in Dallas Thursday night.
The President is also expected to meet leader of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Pedro Sánchez, Podemos'Pablo Iglesias and Ciudadanos' Albert Rivera.
The President will tour the U.S. Naval Station in Rota, Spain, where four U.S. Navy vessels are stationed to bolster NATO security, and will address troops before going back to the United States.
