Nepal Former Prime Minister, Khadga Prasad Oli said today that the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro is an inspiration for the fighters for justice and equality worldwide.
He is also an icon of national unity and solidarity, said Oli, the leader of the Communist Unified Marxist-Leninist Party of Nepal, in a message to Cuban President Raul Castro.
'The revolutionary leader has always stood firm in the face of the hard and long blockade imposed by the United States against the Caribbean island for more than half a century,' he underlined.
Oli also emphasizes that Fidel is an example in the struggle for national sovereignty and independence that served as inspiration to the people of this nation of the Himalayas.
He also stated that Cuba currently has high rates of human development, among which it cites the 'world-renowned health system'.
'The world has lost a visionary, a leader with great courage and commitment. Comrade Fidel Castro will always live in our hearts,' concludes the letter.
