The First Vice President of the Council of State and Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel, presided over the establishment of the Union of Computer Specialists of Cuba at Havana''s Conference Center.
The First Vice President of the Council of State and Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel, presided over the establishment of the Union of Computer Specialists of Cuba at Havana''s Conference Center.
The Cuban Communist Party's Political Bureau member stressed the importance of this organization to keep the country up-to-date with computer technology.
"The Union of Computer Specialists of Cuba is part of the achievements of the Revolution, and its challenge is to support and contribute to the development of our country," he said.
He further stressed that the organization should encourage dialogue with regards to technological developments, and he also highlighted the need for computerization to ensure cyber-security.
"It is important to develop a platform that will prevent capitalist campaigns against our country via social network sites," he stated
The board of the Union of Computer Specialists is made up of Dr. Ailyn Febles Estrada - President and Maria Esther Alfonso Suarez - Vice President, as well seven other members.
As part of the upcoming 16th International Convention and Fair,- 'Informatica 2016' - to be held on March the 14th, the Union of Computer Specialists of Cuba will exchange ideas with similar international organizations in order to learn from the work of these institutions.
