The national handicraft director at the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets, Mercy Correa, said that furniture, gold-silver articles, imitation jewelry, textiles, footwear, pieces in glass and metal, saddlery, leather and wood articles are some of the items on offer at the fair.
The exhibition area will host about 15 institutional stands and 257 stands from individual producers across the country.
"Despite the shortages, there will be new items this year and many of artisans are interested in showing their wares," she added.
While the event is dedicated to Mother's Day, there are not only articles for them;the range of products covers the male and young market, Correa said.
As in previous years, several Cuban companies, such as Artex, EGREM record company, Galerias Genesis, the National Book Distribution Company, and Quitrin, among others, will participate. The fair is held until the May 5th.
