Cuba hosts First Congress on Cosmetology and Aesthetic Medicine

Some 700 delegates of Latin America, Europe, member countries of Caricom and the United States will participate here in the 1st Congress of Aesthetics, Cosmetology and Aesthetic Medicine, from July 1 thru 3, announced organizers.

Sponsored by the group of Cosmetology of the Cuban Society of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Latin American School of Formation in High Aesthetics (Elces) among other institutions, the venue will gather some 200 local delegates

Specialists from Mexico, Ecuador, Chile, Perú, Colombia, Argentina, Honduras, Guatemala, Venezuela, Dominican Republic and Cuba.

In a press conference, director of the National Council of Scientific Health Societies, Pedro Velis, said the event had a common target: the biopsico-social welfare of the person, linked to human health.

Loss of pigmentation in the face, integral therapy, myototherapy, redensification of the face outline, as well as advantages of the growth factor in the nano-aesthetic, are some of the topics of the scientific program.

Malign lesions in the face, cosmetic care, ozone therapy in cosmetology, and the treatments for vitíligo from human placenta sub-products, are added to the proposals.

The venue, said organizers, will be the starting point for the opening of a high school of aesthetics, destined to be homologated in this activity.

Simultaneously will session the First Seminar on responsible aesthetics, aimed at giving professionals of this discipline in Cuba and Latin America the necessary tools for its practice.

At the same time in Aesthetics and Health 2016 there will be a commercial expo and business round, in which national and foreign enterprises, will exhibit services, products and technologies linked to health services.

The Argentinean specialist Juan Magrina, who heads the fair, highlighted the support of the top Sanitary authorities of the island to carry on this event. It is necessary

to have in mind how to mix aesthetics with medicine in order to prevent errors for lack of training and lack of knowledge in the application of some methods, he said.

Experts from Spain and Canada will also attend the 1st Congress of Aesthetics, Cosmetology and Aesthetic Medicine, organized by the Cuban Ministries of Public Health and Domestic Trade, to be held in the Convention Center of the capital.
