The Official Gazette of the Republic of Cuba, in its 60th edition, publishes on Monday the new Electoral Law, which regulates Cuban elections or designation of the members of the electoral organs, their constitution, attributions and operation.
It also describes the process of nomination and election of delegates to the Municipal Assemblies of the Popular Power, their constitution and the election of their president and vice president.
It also addresses the nomination and election of deputies, the constitution of the National Assembly of People's Power, the election of its president, vice president, secretary and the other members of the State Council; the nomination and election of the president and vice president of the Republic, as well as the election of provincial governors and vice governors.
The new Electoral Law also details the processes of organizing and conducting people´s consultations, referendums and referendums; the organization and operation of the commissions of candidacies and the processing of claims established in electoral issues, the Electoral Registry and electoral ethics.
