The Council of State, following a proposal from its President, agreed to relieve compañero César Ignacio Arocha Macid of his post as Minister of Transport, which was up for renewal, and appoint in his place compañero Adel Yzquierdo Rodríguez, current first deputy minister of Economy and Planning.

Compañero Yzquierdo Rodríguez, a mechanical engineer and Politburo member, has held various responsibilities within the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the national economy, from Enterprise Manager to Minister of Economy and Planning and Vice President of the Council of Ministers.
Compañero Arocha Macid will be assigned other tasks.
