The President of Costa Rica was awarded the Corresponding Foreign Academic degree by the Cuban Academy of History.

Costa Rica´s President, Luis Guillermo Solis, will give a master lecture today at the Main Lecture Hall of the San Geronimo College at the University of Havana on the history of the ties between his country and Cuba.

A string of 4,195 small islands, cays and islets scattered between the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea form the archipelago, but the largest and most important is the Island of Cuba, which resembles a huge alligator floating in the clear waters.

Costa Rican President Luis Guillemo Solis announced Friday that he will travel to Cuba before his own schedule, and will fly to Cuba on December 13.
