The investment process of the Doctor Agostinho Neto General Teaching Hospital in Guantanamo advances from the allocation this year of more than one million 90 thousand pesos for the refurbishment of one of the 4 blocks of that institution, the only one of its kind in the province.
Carelia Martínez Torriente, administrative assistant director of that center, reported that the execution of the work allows to enhance several services such as the external consultation and the area of maternity, the latter with two rooms for the performance of caesarean sections, one of joint lodging, in addition of four delivery rooms.
She added that an investment was also made for the purchase and installation of 14 cameras at vulnerable sites such as the information area, warehouses and at the entrance and exit of the hospital.
The renovation of the main healthcare center of the province is part of the investment process implemented since 2014, which includes the installation of an ecological incinerator to effectively destroy residuals with minimum emission of toxic gases, as well as improvements in the sterilization plant, medical dormitories, burns and drug preparation rooms, among other places.
