Guantánamo – Housing recovery demands a greater analysis time in the meeting of the Municipal Defense Council that checked this Monday the progress of the actions to repair the damage caused by the Oscar hydrometeorological event in Baracoa.
With the presence of Yoel Pérez García, president of the Provincial Defense Council in Guantánamo, the meeting was held in which the difficulties were fundamentally analyzed.
In this regard, the leader, after a tour and analysis in areas of the Mata-Guandao and Jamal demarcations, called attention to errors in the filling out of technical sheets and the allocation of material resources that in certain cases do not correspond in quantity to the true affectation.
In the meeting, the Baracoa’s local authorities reported on the sale of materials to date, through trade, to 482 victims, a figure that responds at this stage to the priority of recovery of the partial damages.
On this subject, the participants agreed to verify that the beneficiaries do not delay in repairing their homes in the shortest possible time.
Regarding the institutions affected by the hurricane, only seven were completed during the day, of which two belong to the Education sector, which has 25 left for total recovery.
Progress is also shown by the telephone system with 97 percent of the services restored.
The Provincial Defense Council in Guantanamo called the main local authorities in Baracoa, the heads of Defense Zones and heads of the different groups that make up the body, to advance in the tasks of recovery, to do it well and within the established parameters to avoid illegalities, since the country makes a great effort to guarantee the necessary resources to erase, as soon as possible, the marks left by the meteor Oscar.
