Guantanamo.- The University of Medical Sciences has formed the 13 de Marzo Brigade to support the actions of the Mother and Child Health Program (PAMI, in Spanish) in the face of the country’s complex situation. It is aimed at contributing to this essential assistance for the Cuban Public Health system.

The 13 de Marzo Brigade is part of the Reasons for Life Contingent, of the University Student Federation, created more than 5 years ago to help in weather events, epidemiological survey, among other contingency, explained Dr. Ileana Roca Pedroso, acting dean at the University of Medical Sciences.

It is also an opportunity to instill in future health professionals a deep sense of collectivism and to strengthen, during the training process, the motivation and professional orientation of the team members toward primary health care.
