The more than 766 schools in Guantanamo are ready to begin the school year 2018-2019, which open their doors on September 3.
Alis Azahares Torreblanca, Provincial Director of Education, stressed that all materials are guaranteed in the territory such as: notebooks, pencils and modern shoes for 6 thousand 445 internal students, as well as tables, chairs, computers and other means audiovisuals which will improve the learning of Guantanamo learners.
The principal of the educational sector, reported that they have in Guantanamo the text books, such as “A Leer”, of first grade, Mathematics, of second, fourth and Spanish Sixth grades and the notebooks, school supplies that in the previous course had difficulties in the distribution.
She also told CMKS that in the new school year Guantanamo has an enrollment of 89,998 students, with an increase of 228 in primary education and preschool education, the latter for which two new daycare centers in Yateras and Imías municipalities are opened and it is expected to start another very soon in San Antonio del Sur.
The Provincial Director of Education, also explained that six primary schools are reopened that years ago were closed by low enrollment, three of them are located in Maisi, two in Yateras and one in Baracoa, so there will be 526 schools that belong to the Turquino Plan.
This Monday more than 10 thousand 695 teachers are incorporated in the school year 2018-2019, who prepared the classrooms, laboratories, sports areas, in addition to planning the classes so that the students can acquire more efficiently the knowledge.
Finally, Alis Azahares Torreblanca, director of education, announced that the Vocational School “Julio Antonio Delgado”, held the provincial ceremony in Guantánamo for the start of the school year this September 3, a completely restored center.
