The Katyvala Bwila University of Angola (UKB) and The University of Guantanamo in the easternmost province of Cuba are consolidating their cooperation agreement with the conception of new academic programs.
A joint commission of both institutions is currently working on the projection and design of a new Master's Degree in environmental management of ecotourism, which is expected to be taught by professors from the University of Guantanamo (UG), at the Higher Institute of Sciences of Education Benguela (ISCED), attached to the UKB.
The Angolan academic Manuel Francisco Bandeira explained to Prensa Latina that the conception of this new program is based on the need to develop the actions to overcome the professionals’s work in the tourism sector in his country.
For several years the UKB and the UG have maintained close working relations, we know the quality and experience of the teachers of this Cuban institution.
In addition, there is another special motivation to strengthen our links with Cuba and that is that many Cubans were in Benguela, first during the hard years of the war and then during the reconstruction stage, Bandeira said.
During this week there is a broad program of exchange between both representations that include the study and analysis of the Master's teaching program, the meeting with potential professors and tutors of the degree’s students, as well as other scientific activities.
