The Guantanamo Province will celebrate on November 17th the International Student's Day, a day preceded by a varied program of sports, cultural and scientific activities, which take place inside and outside the schools.
In this sense, the University Student Federation activates its extension projects, which demonstrate its transforming role in the communities, in addition to developing days of blood donations, inter-faculty sports events and cultural galas with the artistic talent of the University of Guantanamo and the University of Medical Sciences.
On the other hand, the students of the secondary education speed up the preparation of the movement of monitors and of the scientific societies while they realize meetings of knowledge between groups, competitions of diverse sports modalities including the games of table and rehearse the fans to the art.
In Guantanamo, the central activity on occasion the Student's Day will take place this year at the "Manuel Tames" Agricultural Polytechnic Institute, located in the Niceto Pérez Municipality, an outstanding educational institution and provincial reference center that combines the principle of study with work in the training of the students.
Next Friday in the educational centers a special meeting will be held to evoke the day that dates back to 1939 in Prague, when the Nazi soldiers unleashed a massacre against a group of young people, while others were sent to concentration camps to try to silence their libertarian ideas.
At present, the celebration takes place in more than a hundred countries and in Cuba it is cause for celebration in schools, where children, adolescents and young people are guaranteed free and high quality education.
