According to the percentage of Guantanamo students approved in the first round of entrance exams to Higher Education, the Cuban easternmost province remains among the best in the country, a merit that has been held for five consecutive years.
This was confirmed by Juan Ramón Borges, executive secretary of the Provincial Entrance Exam Commission, who explained that the revisions closed at the end of last week with Historia, the last subject that was evaluated, in which of the 2,036 examined, in different subjects, 96.56 percent approved, and 97.73 in the specific case of those who graduate from pre-university.
Although these results keep the province at the forefront, the figures decrease discreetly in relation to the previous year, by about one percentage point, and similar occurs with Mathematics that this year was approved by the 72, 26 percent of twelfth graders, while Spanish-Literature maintained its usual and satisfactory result of one hundred percent.
The exams were successfully developed with assistance, discipline and commitment, in the 15 schools located in the 10 Guantanamo municipalities, and the territory San Antonio del Sur excelled, after the two pre-university schools achieved an average grade higher than the provincial average in Mathematics, and all its students approved in History.
At this time, the educational sector reinforces the reviews for those who failed to present themselves for the extraordinary tests -on June 18, 21 and 25-, while the Seminar for the preparation of the 2019-2020 course, attended by the ministers, is held in which they carry out a balance of the current school year and draw up the projections in favor of the quality of teaching.
The entrance exams to Higher Education is a requirement for applicants to have access to the more than two thousand university places offered this time in the plan of career in the day course, most of them aimed at the pre-university institutes .
On June 3, the results of the granting of the degree will be released for those approved in the first round, and then, for those who attend the extraordinary, will have the chance to apply for the university places available.
