With the presence of the first Secretary of the Cuban Communist Party in Guantanamo, Rafael Pérez Fernández, the provincial act of closing the 2018-2019 school year was held, in which120 teachers were recognized for their outstanding work teaching the new generations of the territory.
During the final ceremony of the school year the First Degree Frank País Order was awarded to the teachers Dania Frómeta Romero and Damaris Bosch Soler, for more than 50 years of uninterrupted work in the sector, also by indications of the Council of State of Cuba as well seven outstanding pedagogues were decorated with the Second Degree Frank País Order.
Meanwhile, other professionals with a distinguished career received the distinctions Por la educación cubana and la José Tey; as well as the Jesús Menéndez medals and the 55th Anniversary Seal of the Education Union, the latter conferred on Roberto Soler Fernández, of the Provincial Directorate of Education.
During the event, the professors with the best results in entrance tests were also stimulated, the most relevant centers at the territorial level and the most integral municipalities, stand out in this sense Caimanera and Yateras.
In her words, Raquel Laviste Villafruela, the main representative of the sector in the Cuban easternmost province, called educators to overcome the results in the upcoming school year to make Guantanamo once again distinguish nationally.
She also pointed out that at the end of the 2018-2019 academic year, 69 medals were awarded in knowledge contests, as well as tenth Sabe más quien Lee más Contest and De Donce Crece la Palma Contest, all together with the results in university entrance exams, assistance and promotion allowed Guantánamo to be for the fourth time an outstanding province.
