
The 2024 Cycling Tour of the Eastern provinces will extend from Baracoa to Ciego de Ávila from February 18 to 25, in honor of the 63rd anniversary of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (Inder in Spanish).
For the first time on the Island, a stage tour will cover seven provinces, in a route of almost a thousand kilometers divided into eight stages. The presence of 102 riders is expected among the sextets of the 15 territories of the country plus the national representations (Cuba A and B).
The days will be the following: Baracoa–Maisí-Baracoa (122.3 km) on February 18; Baracoa-Guantánamo (149 km) on the 19th; Guantánamo–Santiago de Cuba (101.6 km) on the 20th; Santiago de Cuba-Bayamo (115 km) on the 21st; Bayamo-Holguín (120 km) on the 22nd; Holguín–Las Tunas-Camagüey (200 km) on the 23rd; Camagüey-Ciego de Ávila (110 km) on the 24th and a circuit in Ciego de Ávila (80 km) on the 25th, to total 997 kilometers.
In this Vuelta, governed by the regulations of the International Cycling Union and the special one of the Cuban federation of this sport, the first three in the different classifications will be awarded: general final by time, flying goals, mountain, by points, the sub category -23 and by teams.
The National Cycling Commission informed JIT that on February 15 the caravan must leave for the First City of Cuba, where on the 17th the opening ceremony of the event, the improvement workshop for commissioners and the technical conference will be held.
