Guantánamo – The program for the decontamination of Guantanamo Bay, which involves the control of polluting sources in the Guantanamo-Guaso hydrographic basin of national interest, constitutes an example of the efforts of environmentalists in this eastern province to preserve the environment.
An example of this endeavor is the Integrated Management of the Middle and Lower Parts of this Basin project, approved by the National Environment Fund, whose actions will reduce the polluting load to the Guaso River, and consequently, to the Guantanamo Bay.
