The day of the competition the family was accompanied by Yoel PĂ©rez GarcĂa, First Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Party and Richard Cruz Alcedo, Provincial Director of Sports and neighbors.
The Guantanamo native Yarisleidis Cirilo achieved her personal best and reached the podium with 44: 36 . She was surpassed by the Canadian Katie Vincent 44.12 seconds and the North American Nevin Harrison 44.13 seconds.
