Guantanamo-. The rafts on the Toa River are a means of transportation for the inhabitants of the mountain community in the municipality of Baracoa, Guantánamo Province, who live on the banks of the largest river in Cuba.
And to show off the skill of these men and women who transport their agricultural products, merchandise, and children who go to school on a daily basis, the Toa Rafts Festival is held every year in the community Cayogüín, in Baracoa, in its 21st edition.
The Festival is one of the initiatives of the 27th Festival of Waters, which celebrates the 513th anniversary of the Villa de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción de Baracoa, in which government and party authorities in the territory, cultural promoters, art instructors, members of the Inder and the general public participate.
