Guantánamo – United and to boost production is the commitment made by the more than two thousand cooperative members of the Niceto Pérez municipality, who contribute to the production of milk, meat, vegetables, and other agricultural items despite the drought and the shortage of inputs, as a response to the criminal imperialist blockade and the global economic crisis.

Yadira Rodríguez, president of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) in that territory, stated that the rural men and women in the current stage of work promote the delivery of donations to School Centers such as the Rayitos de Sol Children’s Circle, the Alcibiades Torres Special School and to Health Institutions among which the Casa de Abuelos and the Hogar Materno stand out.

They also guarantee agricultural products to facilities of Commerce and Gastronomy that are in charge of the Family Care Systems (SAF).

The highest representative of the farmers of Niceto Perez reported to the Press the on the occasion of the 66th anniversary of the celebration of the First Congress of Peasants in Arms, on September 21, the members of the grass-root committees contribute to the beautification  of the squares, historical sites and boarding, in addition to productive work in the farms of collective use and the contribution to the cultivation of the land to comply with the program of food sovereignty and nutritional education.

She also pointed out that the Cooperative and peasant sector are motivated by the celebration of the 13th Congress of the ANAP organization next year, in which the delegates aspire to attend the event with a strengthened Boards of Directors, Economic Productive Front, even more the incentive to improve the standard of living of the rural families in the communities through the social programs.
