Guantánamo – By decision of the Provincial Defense Council, a total of 126 passengers from the municipalities of Imías, Baracoa and Maisí, from the Havana-Guantánamo train, and the Havana-Baracoa and Camagüey-Baracoa buses, who have remained in an evacuation center set up at the University of Guantánamo (UG) by the Defense Council, will continue their trip to their destinations.

All will be transported by School Buses. Direct access to these municipalities from the provincial capital is still interrupted due to damage to the roads, factory works and bridges, which is why the strategy was drawn up to take them out through Holguín (Guantánamo – El Cristo – Mella – Caballería – Sagua – Moa- Baracoa – Maisí).

There will be 3 buses, two from Baracoa and one from Maisí. All the necessary logistics have already been coordinated so that this trip can be completed successfully. It will be long, and the roads they will travel on are not in good condition either, but they have not been hit by the hurricane and do not offer any danger if precautions are taken.

At the evacuation center in the UG, the following representatives of MITRANS were with the passengers: Luis Roberto Rosés, vice-minister; Henrry Rodríguez, delegate of Transportation in the province, and Sandra Loureiro, director of the National Road Center.
