Guantánamo.-  For 32snd time 187 nations of the world vote in favour of  ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba; 2,  of the US  and Israel and 1 abstains  of the Republic of Moldova, The vote took place today, October 29th at the General Assembly of  the United Nations in New York.

For the twenty-seventh consecutive year, the UN General Assembly overwhelmingly approved a Cuban-sponsored resolution, urging Washington to repeal its blockade policy towards Cuba.

The framework of coercive measures undermines the principles of International Law, the United Nations Charter and international cooperation, and prevents the full participation of the island in international and regional spaces.

The immediate end of the blockade would benefit not only the peoples of Cuba and the United States, but also international and regional cooperation,

At the same time, the Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel thanked nations of the world for their support of Cuba at the UN General Assembly and against Washington’s nearly six decades-old blockade of the Caribbean state.

Writing on his Twitter account, Diaz-Canel expressed: “Thanks to the international community for your support of #Cuba. Proud to hear representatives from other nations highlighting the values and efforts of our heroic people, who have known how to resist and at the same time, give solidarity to the world #NoMásBloqueo.”

The president wrote: Little David defeated the giant Goliath again. Little #Cuba has defeated the neighboring empire again, which will surely arrogantly ignore the world’s demand, but the dignity of this people and universal solidarity have defeated it again.
