Guantánamo.– To check in person the progress of the recovery process in the eastern municipalities of the Guantanamo Province, the President of the Defense Council in Cuba, Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, president of this nation, arrives in the early hours of the day.
The head of state is accompanied by several ministers, including from the FAR, Army Corps General, Álvaro López Miera, who make up the work team that, led by him, will make, if necessary, decisions that will speed up the process much more.
The tour began in the Imías Municipality, one of the most affected by the hurricane. The president spoke with the population about the work being done on the roads, electricity, and support with all kinds of resources.
He visited the Ciro Fría Cabrera Polyclinic, which serves a population of more than 21 thousand inhabitants. Doctors, nurses and all the workers of the institution are returning vitality to this place, where the water and mud reached a height of two metres
In his X account the Cuban president wrote: #Cuba is fighting in two trenches. One is open here, on the battered southern and northern coasts of Guantanamo, where people are fighting to reverse the damage caused by Oscar. The other is at the UN, where the blockade that has made recovery and life itself more difficult for 6 decades is being condemned.
