Guantanamo.- After the intense rains associated with Hurricane Oscar as it passed through the Guantánamo Province, the reservoirs that flow into Manuel Tames Municipality are showing favorable conditions by increasing their volumes, according to Rafael Velazquez, first secretary of the Party Committee in that town.

Such a situation requires constant monitoring of the dams, including the Faustino Pérez, one of the largest reservoirs in the province with a capacity of 26 million cubic meters.

The local authorities of Manuel Tames also call on the population to stay informed through official media, secure resources and avoid crossing swollen rivers or doing any other action that endangers life, most importantly. They also called boiling drinking water.
